Golden Nugget in-room TVs

I saw some recently added traveler pictures of rooms at the GN with wall-mounted flat screens instead of the old-fashioned tube TVs. Are they upgrading? If so, is it all of the rooms or just north tower? Any feedback is appreciated as it may change my room reservations.

BUMP

Come on, somebody has got to know something.

Blagger, do you know anything about this?

Golden Nugget in-room TVs

If a snazzy TV is important to you, I think you%26#39;d better go elsewhere. We could care less about a TV, but I do recall that in the South Tower they aresmall ( maybe 27';) old fashioned with tubes and only get a very few channels- a few of the GN%26#39;s own ads and some other gambling Infomercial type ones- and only just the major stations - very few choices.

I am sure the pictures posted must have been the new Gold Rooms for which you pay almost double. I am not at all sure that any north tower rooms have new TV%26#39;s except the Gold Rooms- there are 77 of those. You might want to call GN if this is an issue with you.

We stayed last November in the South Tower, older tube TV%26#39;s, not sure of the channel selection as I never even turned it on.

Gold Rooms are brand new (renovated) in one of the towers. They are booked sepcifically as Gold Rooms and have a ';vip'; check in (handy if it%26#39;s real busy. The rates are higher, but for the price, they are some of the nicest rooms in Vegas.

I wish I could help you, but I know NOTHING about Golden Nugget. I swear....

It%26#39;s not a huge deal to me, but we are there for 7 days and if the north tower has them and the south tower doesn%26#39;t and it%26#39;s not that much different in price then we may go for it.

To be honest, its about time the Golden Nugget gets on board and puts flat screens in all the rooms.

Only gold-rooms have flatscreens. It doesn%26#39;t matter what tower your in.

I am in the room so seldom.

Mainly I use the TV to check the weather so I can plan my day in Vegas and to check the weather at home before I go back to see if it will be snowing. I admit that sometimes it is on in the background if I am doing something in the room.

Ther is a quite sustantial price difference between rooms that have plasma TV%26#39;s and those that don%26#39;t- for a mid May weekday:

South Tower ( old TV%26#39;s) $69

North Tower ( Old TV%26#39;s -only difference is room location closer to casino and the closet has french doors not sliding ones) $105

Gold Club Room- I believe all are in North Tower and all have plasmas

$169

These price differences are pretty typical all the time. I ahve never botheerd to book anything but a South Tower Room personally after being ';rewarded'; with a North Tower room once ( with a tube TV and not liking it at all as the french doors make the bathroom smaller).

i don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll ever get a Gold Room with the new TV for ';just a little more.';

I just can%26#39;t believe you%26#39;re going to Vegas and worried about the TV.
