Help with Accomodation

Hi,

We will be arriving in Las Vegas on August 27th %26amp; leaving on August 29th for the Grand Canyon on our way through to New York.

What I would like to find out is:

1) Accomodation - budget is $100 night.(have to stick to a budget, as New York will take a fair chunk of the cash).

I have narrowed it down to Luxor, Treasure Island, Stratosphere. Not a big gambler %26amp; don%26#39;t mind walking alot, just want to be on the strip.

2) Day trip to Death Valley can anyone recommend must see sites in Death Valley.

Thanks

Treasure Island, Luxor,...Stratosphere,,is the order of preference. In fact, scratch Strat, it is a rudimentary hotel a great distance from the action.

Luxor has the best pool area by far, spectacular architecture, and is closest to the most themed hotels.

TI has a small pool, is near the north end of the strip, near the most shopping and luxury-giant hotels.

Help with Accomodation

Hi,

No they aren%26#39;t in order, but thanks for the heads up on strat.

Australians sure like to travel.

Lots of desert to see in Death Valley. There%26#39;s a small community called, what else, Furnace Creek,

but it%26#39;s a day%26#39;s excursion from Las Vegas and you

don%26#39;t really have the time. I know it%26#39;s a place that

lives in legend, but it%26#39;s not really that big of a deal.

You want to see desert, go to the Valley of Fire and

then south around Lake Mead to Boulder Dam. You can

stop off for a Lake Mead cruise at Hemenway Harbor or

lunch at Lake Mead Marina.

As far as your hotel options, it%26#39;s the TI by a long

shot! If you wanted to stay just off the Strip, you

broaden your choices to: the Orleans, Rio, Gold Coast, and Palms

Rowdyreno,

Thanks yes aussies do like the motor car!

Yep, we are planning the trip to New York via Colorado, Texas, New Orleans %26amp; Florida, not to mention coming up the coast into New York.

Have got 5 weeks off work, so will be great to have a summer mid year! Its actually quite challenging this trip, without this site I would be lost.

I do like the look of TI %26amp; also Luxor. Death Valley might disappear of our time table shortly, or we could stop on our way to Vegas I suppose.

TI and Luxor would be your best choices if they%26#39;re in your budget. I wouldn%26#39;t scratch Strat off of your list though if the price is right. I%26#39;m guessing you will have a car so Strat is not that bad of a choice. While it does sit far up the strip, the hotel itself is fine. TI is really going to put you in walking distance to the action though and Luxor also has a decent location. You may also want to check out Bill%26#39;s Gamblin Hall. Great location, great rates. Looking at their site I see the rates for those dates is $130 +tax total for 2 nights. (59.95 one night, 69.95 the other)

Seeing your stay is during the weekdays you shouldn%26#39;t have much trouble finding a good rate under $100 a night.

Bills

Flam(great pool area)

harrahs

ballys

all center strip would fit your needs

Two nights in Vegas you need to be in the middle of the strip. Ballys has rooms for $50 a night the nights you are there. Must book by 9th May. Large standard rooms across from Bellagio %26amp; attached to Paris.
