Las Vegas is in the desert, California is where the ocean and the beaches are.

I know Vegas is in the dessert!! Who doesn%26#39;t? I was referring to any sort of beach like a man made beach which I think there is in Vegas. Saves me driving 4 hours to Long beach......

There are small beaches on Lake Las Vegas (Loews has one and I believe the Ritz and the village there have a beach also) . May also want to look into Lake Mead.

dabber, to hopefully clear up the confusion. ';beaches'; connotes the ocean/ coast to most here. A beach may have more locally applicable meaning. But reading your post one would most likely think SoCal. Cheers.

Laughlin about 90 miles from Las Vegas has two hotels with beaches, Harah%26#39;s and the Avi. You would need to be a guest to use them.
