grand canyon helicopter tour

I would like some advise, I have a fear of heights and I wondered if anyone similar had taken this tour? Its a lot of money to pay to back out at the last minute, but I would really love to do it.

Also does anyone have any experience of grand canyon helicopter tours, the package i have seen is on the new helicopter. Thanks

what package did you look at?

I too have a fear of heights....but it didn%26#39;t stop me. Just make sure to get a motion patch or over the counter pills and take 3 hours before. On the way to the Grand Cannon i sat in the middle back. I felt that i would be able to take it in the middle front on the way back. It%26#39;s an experience of a lifetime for sure but will not do it again at that price$$.

I have FOH too. I never felt the in the %26#39;copter. It%26#39;s very smooth and somehow I didn%26#39;t have that motion feeling and actully felt like we were gliding slowly slightly above ground. I chose Maverick. These place use PILOTS. Not taxi drivers. Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention it was a once-in-a lifetime trip and unforgettable. I can%26#39;t say enough about how great it was.

Cormac55,

I think we%26#39;ve decided to use Maverick as well. Can you remember what tour you choose on your trip?

Thanks

Champagne brunch? We were picked up about 10 or 11 in van, taken to airport and had a few minutes getting to know the pilot, the other folks who went, I think there were 6 of us. The heli. was very new, nice, leather seats, very comfortable. We had headphones so we could talk to each other, listen to the pilot/guide and hear the music he had programmed for the views. Flew over lake Mead and landed on the canyon edge. There were some tables and chairs with a very nice spread of crackers, cheeses, fruits, etc. with sparkling wine and soft drinks. We had about a 1/2 hour to explore and then back. Dropped back at hotel about 2:30/3:00. It was spectacular. We chose to purchase the picture and the DVD of our trip complete with our conversation. Quite expensive, I believe approx. $275 but a never to be forgotten trip!

Forgot to mention we saw many areas, desert, Joshua Trees, Valley of Fire, Celion Dion%26#39;s house!, lots of fun and beautiful!! On our DVD you can hear us using all the superlatives!

thank you so much for your help, I think I will go for it and like you say it is a chance in a lifetime.

I was not sure who to book with - I will check out Maverick. Does it make a difference if they use the new type helicopters?

I%26#39;m sure any of the reputable operators use the best equipment. I can only say the Maverick was like sitting in a Lexus.
