MGM, Mirage or Mandalay Bay?

Going to Vegas for the first time in September for 4 nights. Which would you recommend as the best all round hotel (will not have a car if that is an issue

MGM, Mirage or Mandalay Bay?

MGM... ! Great pool (although mandalay%26#39;s is better), but still a decent location and nice rooms. Mirage%26#39;s rooms aren%26#39;t as good, and Mandalay is far.

MGM, Mirage or Mandalay Bay?

In my opinion Mandalay Bay is the better hotel of the 3, however, the Mirage is in the best location for a first timer. I%26#39;d go for Mirage if it were me.

MGM... a great hotel, in a great location and it is a short taxi ride from the airport.

For a first timer I%26#39;d say either MGM or Mirage just do to location. I%26#39;ve sayed at both MGM and MB and I personally liked MB more as a hotel/resort. It seemed a little more upscale IMO. MB is a haul to the center of the strip and if you want to do the usual ';first time'; things you%26#39;ll be walking a ton. We usually stay at MB if we are just in town to chill at the pool. If I%26#39;m in town with buddies and we%26#39;re looking to jump a lot between casinos then I%26#39;d do something more center strip.

Don%26#39;t trick yourself into thinking that you can just jump in the tram from MB to Excalibur and then cross the street to MGM and the monorail. Your still looking at 45 min-hour to get to the center of the strip.

Hope this helps.

I would vote for the Mirage. It is in a great, central location. The rooms are being renovated and should be finished by the late fall. (Might want to call and check on that.) At the very least, by the time you go, lots of the rooms will have been refurbished. (Three floors have been done so far.)

The pool is awesome and the buffet is great.

Since you didn%26#39;t give any specifics about your situation, I would recommend MGM as the best all around. You can%26#39;t go wrong with that. It isn%26#39;t in the middle of the strip, but not far from it. You have the monorail right there to get you anywhere you want to go.

Mandalay is great also, but a little farther out. Still, not a bad choice, it also has a lot to offer.

These are three of my favorites. You can%26#39;t go wrong with any of them. All have great pools and restaurants (and the best blackjack on the strip IMHO). Without knowing what you%26#39;re looking for (how important is food, fine dining, pool etc.), it%26#39;s hard to know which one is right for you. I%26#39;d rank them in this order:

1.) Mandalay Bay

2.) Mirage

3.) MGM

If you can get one of the renovated rooms at Mirage, that would be my first recommendation. It has the best location of the three (close to the new upscale North Strip properties, Forum Shops, etc.) and a really great pool. MGM would probably be my second recommendation, with MB last, only because of location and your lack of a car. If location isn%26#39;t an issue for you, definitely the nicest all around is MB - most luxurious, best pool. But the location really is a bummer - you can%26#39;t walk to very many places and the cab fares will just eat into your wallet. Enjoy your trip!

The Mirage room renovations are supposed to be all finished by the end of August. However, I%26#39;d choose Mirage for location alone over the other two properties especially for a first visit to Vegas. It%26#39;s a great property and you can walk most everywhere from there. You%26#39;d also be saving some money on cab fares if you stayed there rather than one of the other two. It%26#39;s still quite hot in Sept and what might look close in Vegas and walkable very often is not!

mgm all the way! what a place!
