Using hotel pools before room is ready

I will arrive around noon on my next trip in June. Now I know it%26#39;s a 50/50 chance of my room being ready. Does any one know if you can leave your luggage with the bell hop and take your suit and go hang out at the pool until your room is ready? I know the pools require your room key but can you get something from the desk that will allow you to go to the pool. Has any one done this...or do they just want you to hang out in the casino until the room is ready?

Using hotel pools before room is ready

We just did this last Monday at MGM.

We arrived at 8:30 a.m., checked in, got keys (although no room assignment yet) and checked our bags with the bell desk.

We spent a couple hours at the pool, had lunch at the grille there, went back to the sunshine and used one of the house phones to stay in touch with the front desk as to when our room was ready. They also would have called our cell phone when it was ready, had we desired.

If you post the name of the hotel you%26#39;ll probably have better luck with responses...it doesn%26#39;t do me any good to say that I could access Bellagio%26#39;s pool before check-in if you%26#39;re staying at Mirage. :)

of course - for all the hotels we visit - Wynn, Venetian, TheHotel never have an issue with this

To be sure call your hotel directly if you want to know ahead of time, or ask when you arrive.

This is quite common

I can%26#39;t imagine a hotel NOT allowing you to do this. You are staying at the Flamingo, right? I just called their front desk- they said they will issue you a room key(even if the room isn%26#39;t ready) and then you can use the pool.

Never an issue, do it all the time, I%26#39;ve arrived at 8:30 AM and spent the day until 4:00 to get my room at places like MGM or Monte Carlo

I did this at the Mirage last summer - the front desk clerk wrote up a temporary pass which was good for the day we checked in - handed the pass to guy checking ID%26#39;s at the gate. Without a room number, you won%26#39;t be able to charge drinks or anything to your room......make sure you bring some cash with you.

My hotel on my arrival is GN downtown (Vp I go to the Flamingo on Monday) Thanks for the encouraging words.

Bridgefan...if I wanted to know, I%26#39;m sure others including some newbies might have the same question. Yes I could have called but then others wouldn%26#39;t know unless it was posted...so it%26#39;s posted

Marge.

Yea but frankly you still don%26#39;t really know...all you know is what happened to others. I don%26#39;t think the idea of calling the hotel is so bad. Personally, I%26#39;d want info from the source, not heresy from fellow travelers.

Read my post- I just called today! orangectyny knows me and knows I wouldn%26#39;t lie to her- it isn%26#39;t heresay!

Let%26#39;s not bring religion into this...
