newark immigration procedures

Hi, has anyone been thru the immigration control and customs at newark airport after flying in from the uk?. I am flying in from edinburgh en route to las vegas, and have 2 hours between flights, I am concerned that this may be tight timewise. The travel agent assures me that this is plenty time, and continental airlines info seems to be positive too. anyone with any personal experiences out there??

i am flying through denmark then to ohio and then to florida to get to Vegas. Whats the weather like in each city and how much time do I need at each location?

If vp03 sees this she will know the answer. I%26#39;ve gone through immigration there, but it%26#39;s been a few years, I don%26#39;t remember any hang ups though. If I recall correctly, it was very efficiently run.

You should have plenty of time, as long as you don%26#39;t leave the secure area, which you do not have to do. But, you%26#39;re transfering flights not staying, meaning you don%26#39;t leave the secure area of the airport (if you%26#39;re a smoker, you%26#39;re out of luck, you%26#39;ll only be able to light-up when you finally land %26amp; get out of the airport in Vegas). If you%26#39;re flying straight on Continental, I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll even need to claim %26amp; re-check your luggage. They transfer it from your incoming plane to your outgoing plane (you hope %26amp; pray, of course- LOL). Actually, it%26#39;s entirely possible you will be doing the US immigration stuff in Edinburgh, so you%26#39;d have even less worries.

At the very least you can almost trust Cointinental when they are sounding positive. Newark is Continetal%26#39;s home-base hub. They OWN that airport (figuratively). They know the low-down on how long your transfer will take.

doing exactly the same trip and frineds who did thr route a couple of months ago had a straight forward immigration here too. Nut I think u will have to pick up your bags.....

You will have to pick up your bags but it is easy, you get them and then you basically just hand them back again a few min later, no real recheck done.

thanks for all your help, I don%26#39;t really know why i%26#39;m worrying, there%26#39;s another flight to vegas 2 hours later, and I dare say that if we missed our flight, we%26#39;d get on that. Really looking forward to our trip, never been to vegas before, and we%26#39;re getting married while there!!. Any most-do%26#39;s that anyone has suggestions for??
