Paris

HI,

We leave Monday for Vegas for 4 days. We%26#39;re staying in Paris and have been excited about staying there..BUT, I have seen awful reviews...since we booked. Has anybody had a good experience there? I sure hope so. It can%26#39;t be as bad as everyone says, can it? We stayed at Excalibur last time and had a blast. I assume Paris is an upgrade??

Thanks!

Rubydoo

Paris

I%26#39;ve never stayed at Excalibur but I think its a safe assumption that it is an upgrade. Paris was fine, but it was just an average hotel to me because of the room, which is not important to some. I loved the interior of the hotel and Mon Ami Gabi. I would never say I had a bad experience there. Don%26#39;t worry, you%26#39;ll have fun!!

Paris

Rubydooo,

Stayed at Paris 3 nites earlier this month.....liked it a lot. I%26#39;ve missed the negative comments you mentioned but I am surprised since I had a great time there.....

Did airport check-in, asked and received a very nice upgrade with view of Bellagio fountains. Very nice room. Ate 3 meals at Paris....all very good.

Enjoyed gambling there and next door at Bally%26#39;s. BEST OF ALL,

I consider myself a small time gambler but I was comp%26#39;ed meals and at checkout had a $76 credit to put on hotel bill. Pleasant surprise. Be sure to use your players card at Paris and Bally%26#39;s. You%26#39;ll have a great time!

I%26#39;ve stayed at the Paris and was extremely pleased with the beautiful casino and hotel. The rooms were immaculate and spacious and had plenty of amenities - the place is nicer than my normal staple, the Luxor. I%26#39;d feel lucky to stay there again.

P.S. The food is among the best on the Strip as well.

This is a wonderful hotel. The service is outstanding. You can%26#39;t beat the quality of the food. The layout of the hotel is terrific -- elevators, stores, restaurants, the front desk are off to the side, so you don%26#39;t have to walk a million miles through a casino to get anywhere. You%26#39;ll have a great time there -- enjoy!

Well, this makes me feel better. I was really getting to worry. But I%26#39;m sure we will have a good time...hey..my hubby and I w/o the kids!! Woo hooo!!

Thanks so much for this info.

Also...how much is an upgrade for a view of the strip?

We have stayed there 2 times and have another trip booked there for 8 nights the end of May. The hotel%26#39;s location is the best as it is right in the middle of the strip and across from Bellagio. Aladdin is right next door and an easy walk to the shopping mall there. All of the restaurants in the Paris are very good with a wonderful french pastry shop a very short walk from the elevators and they have good coffee as well. Our son who is meeting us there from Seattle loves the Paris and I said we could stay at THEhotel or the Ritz Carlton but he said he would rather stay at Paris. It%26#39;s great!!

Rubydooo

I have never stayed at Paris but I have eaten at the outdoor cafe and loved it. The food was very good and the atmoshpere with the fountains going off was great. We also took a trip up the tower right before sundown and let me tell you how beautiful it was. Looking out over the strip at night with the sun going down is a picture I will never forget. Be sure to take your camera.

Rubydooo,

When I did my airport check-in, I asked very nicely if an upgrade was possible, they didn%26#39;t hesitate and no additional charge. I think that is their policy if a room is available.

But I did tip $20 and told her to have a nice lunch, this was AFTER the upgrade as some of the insiders on this forum say you are putting a person%26#39;s job in jepordy if you try to %26#39;bribe%26#39; them with a 20.

I will have to disagree w/calidancer on this one. the only reason for me to say that paris is better than the luxor is the spot on the strip. Nothing too bad @ paris stayed in june 2004 with 5 other people. Do the airport check in. none of our 3 rooms were ready though.great room service food at paris even @ 3 in the am when you decide to have eggs benedict:)

the luxor however has that wonderful garden tub, that i used every night!in our tower room. luxor however did not have a safe in the room. Our housekeeping staff at both of the above were great! and i am picky esp. about the bathroom. I think you will like paris-i have a good time where ever we stay. There is a pastry shop in lobby near the entrance to elevators i believe; a tad pricey -but the best quiche i%26#39;ve ever tasted. Don%26#39;t drink the pretty blue bottle of water in your bathroom-it%26#39;ll cost ya 4.00$ have a great time!

Vegascalling,

I think you%26#39;re talking about the Boulangerie bakery (not sure of spelling)......lucious stuff and the clam chowder is out of this world.

I think both hotels are great, just different......and the water in the room at Luxor is also 4.00 without the pretty blue bottle
