Shopping - off the beaten path & weird

Hi all. Been to Vegas 4 times and pretty much stuck to the normal shopping. The friend that is going with me has an apartment full of weird lights and lava lamps. Wants more. Any suggestions on %26#39;different%26#39; types of stores to go and find some unique stuff?

Thx.

Shelley

Shopping - off the beaten path %26amp; weird

I%26#39;m bumping this as I%26#39;m interested as well

Shopping - off the beaten path %26amp; weird

Don%26#39;t know about lava lamps, but the Bonanza gift Shop just across from the Sahara has Vegas kitsch at its best, ever kind of souvenier imaginable.

I know there are two farmer%26#39;s markets in LV but not sure if there%26#39;s any flea markets/swap meets. Anyone in the know care to comment?

For something REALLy diferent (but no lava lamps) the Red Shoes Boutique on upper Sahara has every kind of...exotic...shoe made. It%26#39;s just up fromn Bad A** boutique which is a few doors away, for other types of..clothes. And down Sahara past the Sahara is Serge%26#39;s Showgirl Wigs (near Maryland). My bff and I always try to stop by one or both, just for a laugh.

Oh and there%26#39;s a super cool fireworkls store headed out of town off the 15---at the turnoff to red rock Canyon. In a word---wow. Too bad they%26#39;re illegal here or I%26#39;d buy the place out!

Happy shopping!

Don%26#39;t know about lava lamps, but Gambler%26#39;s General Store (downtown on Main) has awesome gambling stuff, just fun to look around, etc.

Hi folks---I meant Valley of Fire, btw. iIhad red rocks on the brain this morning as I am riding there wednesday.

Gotta run---off to a yoga class (to unknot the knots from the plane), then back to the strip!

There is a swap meet . It has been there for years:

Fantastic swap meet is where you find a lot of kitschy stuff, worth a visit if you want to explore a different kind of shopping.

Also around the Gambler%26#39;s General Store on main there are a few ';antique'; shops that sells vintage stuff. Also towards East Charleston by Boulder Highway is another similar area. These are all ';local places'; and definitely off the beaten path.

Thanks for all the insight! We%26#39;ll definitely check them out when we come back.

I did have Serges on my list last month, but never made it there. Will have to next time, if just for a giggle.

Went to Bonanza a few times and must say I was a tad disappointed last time I was there. TOTALLY love the Liberace Museum gift shop...you know it%26#39;s sad when they recognize you when you go in.

Thanks again for all the suggestions! Have a great day everyone.
