Dining With A View

Will be in Vegas next week and would like some opinions on where my wife and I should eat for a ';special'; night out. Unless we%26#39;re at a wedding reception, it%26#39;s the one night out of the year where she wears a dress and I wear a suit.

We did the Eifel Tower Resteraunt last year and were thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. The view, service and food was superb!

If there is anyone out there who feels in their opinion, there is an equal to better dining experience to be had elsewhere, please let me know.

For this one night, cost doesn%26#39;t matter. A stunning view, service and quality of food is what is important.

Wife has previously dined at the Top of the Strat and wasn%26#39;t impressed, so that is out of the question.

Thanks in advance.

Dining With A View

Mon Ami Gabi is excellent if you get a table on the patio. We ate there at sunset and the view of the fountains was stunning and the food was delicious!

One that we are trying on our next visit in May is Voodoo Steak %26amp; Lounge at The Rio. We have reservations for dinner (also at sunset) and I look forward to their views of The Strip as I%26#39;ve been told the view is one of the best in Vegas!

Enjoy!

Thanks Chuppa, sounds awesome. I will definately look into Mon Ami Gabbi.

Do you know if I would be able to reserve a table on the patio around sunset?

Also, do they serve steak and seafood?

Have you tried ';Mix'; at the top of THEHotel?

Excellent view; service and food. Very expensive.

I%26#39;ve been wanting to go to Mix but didn%26#39;t realize it was fine dining. I was thinking we would go there this trip for some drinks but looks like I need to do a little more research on Mix. Thanks for the heads up DCLA!!

Mon Ami Gabi is nice, but it is also not a fine dining sort of place. If you eat on their patio you can see the Bellagio fountains through the trees. You are also right next to a sidewalk teeming with people walking by and auto/bus fumes. It%26#39;s a good place for a more casual type of experience.

As for Mix, I%26#39;ve not been there but I%26#39;ve never seen a bad review of it, in fact I want to go there sometime for at least a drink or two so I can enjoy the view that everyone says is so fabulous.

For a fine dining experience with a view, a place that is wonderful is Alize at the Palms. It%26#39;s owned and run by the people who also own the renowned Andre%26#39;s downtown. I highly recommend it.

My favorite restaurant in Vegas is Prime at Bellagio, Picasso at Bellagio is also excellent, it mostly depends on what your food preference for the evening on which one to choose. The food at Prime is excellent as is the service and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. When booking request a table by the windows, it isn%26#39;t a guarantee that you will get it, merely a request. When we%26#39;ve done it we%26#39;ve gotten that table and loved it. We gave a reminder of our request when we arrived at the restaurant. You can also request to have pre dinner drinks or after dinner drinks/coffee and/or dessert on the patio, again remind your server of that request before you start your meal. The patios at Prime and Picasso are lovely and you have a ringside seat for the fountain shows. It is a beautiful way to start or end a wonderful dining experience.

I definitely recommend Alize. The service, food and ambience are fantasic. It is so much better than most of the places on the strip. I have eaten at MAG,Eiffel Tower and Top of the World-more than once. They can%26#39;t compare with Alize. TOW and Eiffel Tower had great views but the food didn%26#39;t even come close to the food served at Alize. MAG isn%26#39;t even in the same category-IMHO. You defintely can%26#39;t go wrong with Alize.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I have booked a res at Alize. The menu and view is exactly what what I had in mind.

I put in a request for a table by a window. Since this is important to us, should I tip the Maitre D%26#39; when I remind him/her of the request? If so, approximately how much is appropriate?

Have you looked into Top of The World at the Stratosphere?

It%26#39;s no reflection of the Hotel/Casino and in my opinion the food is great and view is amazing.

Alize%26#39; looks amazing. How do Prime and Picasso compare to Alize%26#39;s prices? Prime and Picasso do not post prices on the menu. We have a ressie at Delmonico but am considering other places.

I%26#39;m wondering the same thing. I%26#39;d like to go to Prime and Alize in June and have heard great things about them both. How do you find their menus to be different? What about prices?
