Clothing for Vegas???

I am going to Vegas for the first time on wednesday. Staying at Paris. Now i have no roblem dressing up a bit at night time but during the day i like to dress down a bit and be more casual. Afterall i am on holiday. 8-)

Anyways, would there be issues with me wearing something like abercrombie kacky cargo%26#39;s, RL Polo shirt and flops in the casinos during the day or to restaurants? i hate wearing trainers, plus i am not packing any either so it is either dress shoes or flops...

any suggestions on attire would be very helpful as i have read conflicting reports and do not have a clear idea of what the dress code is like there.

During the day you will be fine dressed like that in all the casinos. If you want to go to a posh restaurant (lunch or dinner) you would be better to dress up a bit (shoes rather than flip flops).

In the evenings, again if you are eating casual you can wear what you like.

Overall, Vegas is much more dressed down than the UK, but you would probably want to dress up a bit for an expensive dinner.

Comfortable shoes are essential as there is loads of walking even within the hotels.

Have a great time!

Clothing for Vegas???

You will be just fine wearing what you just described.........you will be amazed at what you will see people wearing in Vegas. The dress is very casual everywhere. If you go to a show or better restaurant, dress accordingly. Have a wonderful trip!!!!!

We are nearing our fourth visit to Vegas and each time have dressed pretty casual during the day, and just smartened things up a bit at night. On each visit to Vegas we have watched a couple of shows and were surprised at how casual some people were dressed - not that it matters. We have never been to Vegas this early, we normally go June/July where temperatures reach 100+ but looking at the 5 day forecast on the BBC weather site, things are hotting up nicely. Take plenty on summer stuff!!

thanks for the help. big weight off my shoulders.

Heck, a big % of people were wearing shorts and flip flops in December when the temp was only 40%26#39;s! Seems to be the trend nowdays!

During the day it is very casual.

In fact many of the people walking the strip dress like slobs.

Honestly, you can dress however you%26#39;d like. What you%26#39;ve described wearing is more put together than what many people wear. No worries!

You might want to rethink the shoes you%26#39;re packing. I don%26#39;t think you can quite fanthom the amount of walking you%26#39;ll do.

I wear flip flops a lot, too. But if I wore them day after day in Vegas, I wouldn%26#39;t be in very good shape by the end of my stay. I generally take my flip flops, a pair of sandles that provide more support than flip flops and without the thingy between my toes and a pair of walking shoes. Using a variety of shoes helps spread the wear and tear on feet and legs around a bit. Even tennis shoes (I believe you call them trainers) give blisters if worn the entire time.

Khakis, either Dockers or those Abercrombies of yours work for all occasions. The polo shirts are fine too. I%26#39;d nix the flip-flops though. A pair of Nikes or similar would work better.

Sox, underwear and haircuts are opional.

There really is no dress code in Vegas. You can wear whatever you want. It is very casual during the day. Some people like to dress up at night while others don%26#39;t bother. No matter what you wear you will find people who are dressed more casually than you are and others who are dressed more formally. You will see people in shorts, jeans, business casual and formalwear- even wedding gowns! If you are going to one of the more expensive restaurants I would not go casually dressed- but I think they are really looking for neat and clean.

If you are going to clubs, however- some do have dress codes and they seem to be serious about them.
