Luxor Hotel Worth while???

I%26#39;m planning to go to Las Vegas this september and looking into staying at the luxor, any comments good or bad. Or if anyone can recommend a good hotel not too expensive.

Luxor Hotel Worth while???

If it%26#39;s your first trip to Vegas then I%26#39;d personally stay somewhere a little more centrally located than Luxor

What do you call ';expensive';? I%26#39;m guessing you%26#39;re from Rugby in the UK and the weak dollar may well make the better hotels quite affordable for you. If budget is an issue then avoid Friday and Saturday nights when rates are WAY higher than on other nights.

Tell us what (roughly) your nightly hotel budget is and a little about what you%26#39;re hoping to get out of your Vegas trip and you%26#39;ll get good advice on where to stay. Is a good pool important to you?

Luxor Hotel Worth while???

The Luxor is nice, a good price for a nice hotel. The amazing architecture is great for a first trip. The pool area is big and nice. Free tram to Tropicana Ave, gateway to walking the strip. Connected to Mandalay

and Excal.

Other affordable luxury; Monte Carlo.

NYNY, Flamingo, Ballys are good hotels at a good price.

Flam and Ballys are central to just N or central.

Preferred over these, and may offer a good rate;

MGM, Planet Hollywood, Mandalay Bay, Paris,

hi

thanks for the quick responses. yep i am a first time visitor to Las Vegas, we are staying for 5 nights so roughly 拢50 per night (give or take 拢10) on hotel rooms.

there is four adults (myself and hubbie my sister and dad) so either two rooms one double and one twin room. i have been looking at suites which could work out cheaper / reasonable for us all to be in one room ?

All hotels look fab just trying to find valuae for money and good location swimming pool would be a bonus.

things to do in vegas have looked at the usual slot machines, shops shows shooping malls on the outskirts and also defintatley hope to fit in the Grand Cannon

hi there,

WE also stayed at the Luxor our first trip to Vegas. Great accomadations, great casino, pretty much everything about it was great, except for location. We found to far south on the strip for us.

Our second visit (same year) we stayed at Treasure Island, and highly recommend it. Pretty comparable to Luxor as for rooms, price, but location was a little more ideal. Also liked that at night, Treasure Island still had 5 and 10 $ blackjack tables.

Our next tirp,(June) we are going to try Planet hollywood. hope that helps.

We stayed our first time at the Luxor, then we came back a few months later and stayed there again. Sure it is a ways from the strip, but if you are expecting that ahead of time what the hey! Bring good walking shoes, take advantage of the tram, and you can use various forms of transportation to get up and down the strip. The trolly, the monorail, and the double decker bus. You should get coupons ahead of time on there web sites. The drink service is great at the Luxor. My family and I have found that most of our winnings on the slots have been from the Luxor. Don%26#39;t forget to sign up for your rewards card. Pass on the buffet, and there main resteraunt the food is not all that great. For a first time you will like it. Next time you can try out somewhere closer and down the strip. Because if you stay at the other end of the strip chances of you checking out the Luxor is pretty much nil! Have fun we sure did.

Don%26#39;t stay at the Luxor, service and desk people are rude.

Except for Fusia the food is substandard.

I would stay at any of the Central Strip; Belagio, Paris etc first.

i have stayed Planet/luxor/Mirage/Strat and Mandalay

in your budget I would say PH or for nice pool MIrage or Flam.

Luxor has a very large pool area

go to Fat wallet and look for deals

Mandalay has great 2 bedroom suites for around 310 usd a night

MGM also has great deals and nice pools

I have stayed at the Luxor. Your paying full price strip prices for really NOT being on the strip, still quite a bit of traveling.

the rooms were great, the pool was great, casino average.

However, the reason I wont stay there again is that the service is really substandard. At best they will ignore you, the front desk are bored, rude %26amp; dont even think about a comp or upgrade.

Also, if you arrive at a peak time, expect a LONG LONG wait. We arrived off season on a monday around 11pm so we got in right away, but the lineups there were constant.

Stace

Our experience at the Luxor was really good. If you are looking for the best price for a decent place, it%26#39;s probably it. That said, if you can afford to pay a little more to get further up the strip, that would be good.

I have found the Luxor service to be good and comps to be good also. We like the casino and have won there.

Next trip, we are trying NYNY to get a little closer in.

For those that always recommend Mirage or MGM...it may not be in their budget. But I do agree that they are nicer properties.
