Trip Report Harrah's 4/8-4/11

This is my first trip report so please be nice :)

My husband and I decided to go to Vegas for our 3 year anniversary. This was our 3rd time there together. We were engaged at the Eiffer Tower Rest. in 2003.

We like to try different properties when we go...so this time we picked Harrah%26#39;s. We are NOT any sort of high rollers at all...but we had a great time!

4/8- woke up that morning with our 7 month old son around 5am. My husband had to bring our Boxer Mambo over to my parents house around 8am. Brought our son to his parents house around 930am. Hung out and talked to his parents and played with our son. Our son stayed there for 2 nights and my parents 1 night BLESS Grandparents! I missed my son so much but it was nice to get away and just be adults.

Got to the aiport early...United flight ended up being delayed half and hour not bad at all.

Arrived Vegas around 5pm. Got our bags and headed to the outside to catch a taxi- Taxi about $20 with tip to go to harrahs. The check in was sooo smooth - no line at all. We were put in a room with a view of the Pool - mardi grai tower- it was renovated and wonderful! Coffee pot in teh room. Very clean room and balconey.

The balcony was very small but big enough for the two of us to stand on. We could hear carnival court but it really was not to bad. We were on teh 5th floor. I would say the room was a tiny bit small but definitely great for us.

We freshend up and headed to eat at Flavors. I love Flavors. Good price and lots of great food. My main agenda is the crab legs HOT -

we were sooo tired and decided to play some slots - lost some money. Went to buy water out by carnival court. Went to bed. We were still on baby time :).

a note about the United Flight- The pilot was sooo funny. He had everyone cracking up. At one point he said '; Guess what - I found the airport';. The fligt was really bumpy and he made it fun and we all seemed to feel at ease.

Sorry this will be in peices - as I am doing this from work. One thing I forgot to mention about the hotel room. There was a T.V. in the bathroom! IT was fantastic! More later!

I understand the baby time thing=) Mine is 2 now though! This is why I%26#39;m debating taking a very early morning flight into Vegas because I know I%26#39;ll already be up=) Can%26#39;t wait to read more.

4/9 Woke up at 430am ! Again on baby time. Could not go back to sleep. Had some coffee in the room and then sent husband down to starbucks. He said the line was not bad at all. There are two in Harrah%26#39;s.

So since we were up early we got dressed and went to Ellis Island, since I had never been there and wanted the Steak and Eggs. We took the Monorail to Ballys and then exited the back end and walked to Ellis Island. It was super close. I decided I was really glad we went in morning. I really do not think I personally would have felt safe at night. On the way back from Ellis Island there were some guys checking us out and I felt really uncomfortable. Anyways asked for any off the menu specials and server said $3.99 steak and eggs. We both took them - they were great for $3.99 it was great. I think our whole bill was $16 including a generous tip.

I was going to play bingo but when I asked the bartender about it he was kind of rude and then to top it off my husband was sitting there playing and waiting to be served and the bartender NEVER once asked if he wanted a drink. Anyways we took off

We then went to Bills Gamblin Hall... I won a littel there on the Wheel of Fortune. The big wheel it was fun! Got some great drinks. I really liked that casino great place. We were approached once but they backed off. There are .99 cent Margarhitas there at one of the bars.

When we were leaving bills we got approached again and I said no thank very nicely and the guy kept saying it is free free. Whatever ---- I hate being approached by the time share people - nothing is free you ahve to spend your time for whatever it is they are giving away. Well anyways for some reason we went back in Bills - I think I had to use the ladies room or something so then we walk out again and the same guy comes up to us and I am like NO THANK YOU - I kept walking and the guy kept talking to my husband - i heard my husband say no thanks man and then he was laughing- He told me the guy asked him if he wanted to buy some weed LOL

4-9 continued.

We walked on and checked out some hotels- MGM etc. We had been to those hotels previous. So we decided to go check out PH formally the Alladin which we had been to.

There is still some construction around that area. The feel of PH is good I liked it - the shops were nice. We ended up lunching at Blondies. Now that was kind of cool. Laid back --- pretty good food however very epensive for the bar food that it was.

we walked around for a whiel and meant to go check out the Rainstorm in the PH but never ended up going there. We did not play at that casino.

That night we ate at Toby Keiths I love this bar. We had a great time. We ate right at the bar and played video poker and I won. there was a live band and we must have gotten there at a great time because soon after we sat down there was a huge line at the door.

The other part i liked was that you could smoke at the bar and eat.I had been told Nevada law no smoking anywhere there is food but hey whatever. I can not do that in Illionois so it was great to be able to sit at a bar again and smoke. ALthough I did not for over a year when I was prego.

Great report, I liked the rooms at PH but hated the casino. Now the buffet at PH is great, ate at lunch and champange brunch, fantastic.

Great report so far javyjoy. I too am blessed to have a wonderful ';grandmas'; and ';paps'; that will watch our little ones. I remember the first trip away. I missed him like crazy, but it was so nice to get away for some couple time. Keep it coming...looking forward to the rest!

Great report so far and I 2nd that about parents and grandparents who help out. I think they love it too.

Makes going away fun without a worry.

Can%26#39;t wait for the rest of the report as I%26#39;m staying at Harrahs during the MEGA and I need all the scoop.
