THEhotel @ Mandalay Bay

Hi,

I am planning for my 1st trip to Las Vegas and I am interested in staying at THEhotel in a so-called V Suite.

I am wondering whether the proximity to the airport causes problems with noise? (I have stayed at airport hotels before and they%26#39;ve been very well insulated against any noise). Does anyone know if McCarran airport have a curfew whereby planes don%26#39;t fly between certain hours?

Lastly, has anyone stayed here and considers that it%26#39;s a good choice? The Suite appears to have Strip views (not guaranteed) which would be great...in any even, the room/s look great and very spacious and the price is very good. Too good to be true...?

Thanks.

You%26#39;ll love THEhotel. I%26#39;ve stayed twice and its easily one of my favorites.

As for airport noise there simply is none at all so don%26#39;t worry about it.

I haven%26#39;t stayed in a V suite, just in their standard suite so I can%26#39;t offer any input on that. Although I know the V suites are at the end of the hallway though so you should hopefully have a nice view. Even their standard suites are pretty amazing though.

There seems to have been several threads about THEhotel lately.. i replied in another one today describing the VSuite.. just look up posts by me to find out about it. Some of the rooms have strip views, not all.. Air noise is not a problem at THEhotel, i dont really remember hearing much.. There is no curfew on flight times.. however when I stayed at Mandalay, i heard so many helicopters and plans! lol

I really enjoy staying at THEhotel and that is probably my favorite place to stay at... either THEhotel or Venetian.

Our friends stay there and it%26#39;s their favorite hotel in Vegas (and they%26#39;ve stayed in many).

They said no airport noise at all.

We ate at ';Mix'; restaurant at that hotel, and it was really impressive. I would like to stay there sometime, too.

You will love The Hotel. Great sleek suites and wonderful service. Just curious how good of a deal did you get? You thought maybe too good to be true? That must be a great deal!

Thanks for all your replies.

Actually the deal isn%26#39;t probably all that amazing and I could get cheaper room elsewhere but when I take in to consideration the size of the Suites (sep lounge area and so on) then it seems really good value to me ($170 per night). That%26#39;s especially the case when comparing it the Venetian at over $300-400 per night! Ouch!

So thanks again!

Any other info greatfully received so fee l free to post :-)

how did you get that great deal? What are your dates?

I have stayed and got nothing but great things to say...this is the place to stay...great spacious rooms...and wonderful service...also their is tons to do...only con is that its quite aways from mid strip if you plan to walk...we never walked always took the cab.

';What are your dates?';

arrive July 7 for a stay of 3 nights (mid week)

it was actually $179.95 per night not $170 as I stated (lazy me couldnt be bothered typing the extra digits!).

I realise that its hot at that time of year - and probably why the price is better - but I live in a hot part of Australia where we frequently have temps of 100 and high humidity, so no worries!

I hope im not missing anything about this time of year like school holidays or whatever...hopefully it is just me getting lucky :-)

You can take Hotel elevators to/from MIX before 10:00

The Gym is cramped, no windows, poor equipment selection.

The Cafe has the best breakfast in Mandalay Bay complex outside of Veranda at Four Seasons.

I%26#39;m headed to Vegas in a couple of weeks and will be staying @ THE Hotel for the second time. I love the decor and I love the Mandalay casino.

I%26#39;m staying 4/30-5/4 and got rates of 139, 139, 139, 199 (Saturday). I got those rates thru the casino marketing dept who called me up 6 six weeks ago.

Last fall was my first stay at Mandalay/THE hotel. I play primarily BJ and maintained a $25 average. So I guess that was enough to get casino rate at least.
