How did your Second Trip differ from your First Trip ?

Everyone%26#39;s first trip has a certain wow factor and just taking in the uniqueness of Vegas.

I%26#39;ve had my first trip and am already seriously planning my second.

How did your second trip differ to your first ?

There are already things i know i missed the first time around. What will make planning my second trip easier is knowing the geography of the strip first hand. Maps, photos even video just isn%26#39;t the same. When you%26#39;ve seen the strip up close and personal, it gives you dimension and perspective for planning

How did your Second Trip differ from your First Trip ?

1st time we stayed at MGM and it was a trek just getting out of the hotel.

2nd time we stayed more central and in a more compact hotel. It was the Paris.

We also made sure that we got over jet lag quicker, spent less time gawking at the other hotels in order to do more things at our short time there.

The more things turned out to be shopping by the wife!!!

How did your Second Trip differ from your First Trip ?

We also stayed in a more central hotel second time around (Paris/Bellagio split) as we had stayed in the Luxor first time.

I found the second trip much less ';hard work'; as there wasn%26#39;t the rush to see everything.

We also gambled much more on the tables and had a trip downtown, which I know isn%26#39;t everyones thing but you should try it as it%26#39;s a very different atmosphere than the strip

Whatever you decide to do at least you%26#39;ll be back in Vegas and once that is the case...hey who cares!

One way my second trip was better than my first was by heeding the advice received on this site. This helped to make my second trip even more memorable than the first. The slightly cracked and seriously strange group that lives in this forum gave me some sound advice and also some hidden gems and overall great advice, suggestions and hidden tricks and gems presented for different things to try besides just gambling. Now I am one of those slightly cracked and seriously strange people that haunts this site.

My second trip was an entirely different experience.

My first trip was in August 2007 for 2 nights-my friend and I were 20 so no drinking/gambling could be done. We had a great time but felt we would have had a much better time when we turned 21.

My friend then booked Las Vegas for us again to celebrate my 21st birthday in January 2008. We had plans to go %26#39;wild%26#39; and party loads but my daddy died a week before we went to Vegas. I still went along with the trip, as my dad would%26#39;ve wanted, but took it easy and kept drinking and gambling to a minimum. We stayed in the hotel most days/nights and didn%26#39;t go to any clubs or anything, I wasn%26#39;t in the mood for any of that.

I%26#39;ll be returning to Vegas in May. I%26#39;m spending 11 nights in San Francisco and then off to Las Vegas for 3 nights. Our 3rd visit will probably be a completely different experience again! Can%26#39;t believe it%26#39;s going to be my 3rd time in Vegas in 8 months!!

2nd trip we got a rental car! Learned that the public transportation was a pain, got dumped at the bus station from Sam%26#39;s Town to downtown at 2 AM,then waited over an hour to get a cab back to the strip on the first trip!

Every trip has been a little different since. I don%26#39;t try to see everything in a few short days now,I just relax and go with the flow!

1st trip was rushed. Stayed at Paris for only 2 nights and then went to Cali for a week. 2nd trip was for 4 nights, stayed at MGM--loved it, and we didn%26#39;t have a plan. More relaxed and just went with the flow.

My first trip (not counting going when I was a youngster 20 plus years previously...and hey, Circus Circus seemed to be much more fun then...lol) was a trip with a friend, to see another friend who had moved out to Vegas a few months before. We stayed at the Maxim, which was the only place we could get a room that we could afford. What a dump that was. The only place I have ever been to where the $2.99 breakfast buffet was NOT worth the price! Every time I look at the Westin, I shiver. It was over passover and I went to a sedar with 200 others at the Desert Inn with my Vegas friend, conducted by a rabbi that thought he was Henny Youngman. His wife had hair like Crystal Gayle. It was very strange! Otherwise, we three roamed around, did a little gambling, but mostly I just gawked.

Not even sure where I stayed at the second trip, maybe Mandalay Bay. Needless to say, it was an improvement over the Maxim...

I hated Vegas the first time I visited鈥?I stopped at Stardust (that might have something to do with it)鈥?I felt very intimidated by the whole atmosphere鈥?it all felt a bit鈥?well鈥? Seedy.

My second visit, I was a bit older and more worldly wise鈥?the experience was completely different and I married my second (and final) husband there. We stopped at the NY NY (I wanted to stop at MGM, but it was full).

Since then, we have always stopped at MGM and I love Vegas now鈥?and that love keeps growing with every visit!

Truthfully I don%26#39;t really remember my second trip - I do know that you (Peter) probably did more on your first trip then I%26#39;ve done in my 20 or so trips!!

The first few trips we spent seeing different hotels/casinos etc. What has happened for us with many trips under our belt is we now go to Vegas to do what we like to do best - relax, gamble, get away for a little alone time. We don%26#39;t feel the need to go, go, go at all. If you read from people who have traveled there many times, you%26#39;ll notice that they usually go for the sole purpose of doing their favorite things. Some will play poker all weekend, some will shop, some will see shows, dine, visit spas.

I love reading trip reports and the hearing excitement from first time visitors! After many trips, I still get just as excited when we land, when we get to the hotel, when we hit the casino...it%26#39;s not a new excitement, it%26#39;s the %26#39;we know how great this is%26#39; excitement. That%26#39;s what is so fantastic about Vegas!!

So you%26#39;re seriously planning your second trip? When are you thinking about going? Are you going to make the Mega in June? LOL!

AND...are your pictures posted anywhere yet? =)

My first trip was in August and it was so hot! I remember it being night and the temp was 110!!

2nd trip was our wedding and in Dec. Most memorable trip and luckiest gambling wise and life wise! We took in a lot of off strip things, Valley of Fire, Mt Charleston, drove to the Mojave Desert one day. Still had plenty of time for gambling and other things ;)
