anyone stayed here? it says on their website you can use the flamingo pool free...is that true? Are the rooms nice or a dump?

I haven%26#39;t but Maggs and her hubby did last summer and posted a trip report...think that%26#39;s how she spelled her TA name.
Anyway I also thought someone posted recently that the Bill%26#39;s customers couldn%26#39;t use the Flamingo pool anymore, so you may want to call just to verify that info!

We%26#39;re staying there beginning 4/27 and when I made the reservations they assured me that we could use the Flamingo%26#39;s pool.
The rooms are nice. They are a little dark but its a Victorian theme so dark was what they were aiming for. The rooms were clean and no obvious wear and tear (I was there Sept 07). The 42 inch tv was nice. It meant I could watch tv without my glasses.
When I was there they allowed access to the Flamingo Pool. Its probably worth calling them to make sure its still the case. I believe it is.
Well there you go...I just remember someone recently posting that here so mentioned it, but it appears you can still use the pool which is a good thing since their pool area is beautiful!!!!
The rooms are great! (Click on me for a review.) Unless you enjoy returning to a palatial abode, you%26#39;ll enjoy being able to get to the elevator in as little as 30 seconds (from the Flamingo Road entrance).
Bill%26#39;s is the ';redheaded stepchild'; of Harrah%26#39;s so not only may you have access to the Flamingo pool next door but when you sign up for their players card, you can get a great fun book for the HET properties.
I%26#39;ve stayes at ';Bill%26#39;s'; three times, over the years when it was the Barbary Coast. On the whole, a very nice place, for a couple of reasons.
1. Location. Great location for casino hopping and the rooms are reasonably priced. Right across the street from the Bellagio, Caesars, and Ballys.
2. Size. Bill%26#39;s is a small hotel and none of the rooms are more than a couple of dozen steps away from the elevator, which isn%26#39;t but a couple of dozen steps from the street. Everything is close to everything else. You just don%26#39;t end up walking yourself to death before you get to do anything. BIG plus, in my book.
3. Rooms. Rooms are large and comfortable. The bathrooms are small, however. The rooms have a table and a couple of chairs and a vanity, a touch my wife likes. All of the rooms with a King bed face south and overlook Bally%26#39;s/Bellagio. Before Bally%26#39;s built their big video sign, you could see the fountain from most every room on that side, but the views are curtailed, now. You can still open up the little window in the bathroom and hear the music, however. Speaking of hearing, you%26#39;re less than 100 feet from the corner of Flamingo and the Strip, so there can be quite a bit of street noise from the south side rooms, so you%26#39;re likely to hear sirens day and night. Light sleepers take note.
The rooms with 2 Queen beds are all on the north side and you get a beatiful view of the roof and the rooms of the lower floors of the Flamingo.
4. Room service. The restaurant offers (or used to) their graveyard specials on the room service menu for the same price. I was able to feed two college girls steak dinners from room service for under $20.00!
What%26#39;s not to like about this place??!
It is definitely not a dump. The rooms are very nice, very clean and very safe. I really can%26#39;t think of anything negative to say about them. The staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful. Unlike many hotels- you can get from your room to the casino or the strip in a very short period of time- no hikes involved. You can%26#39;t beat the location- you can walk to the south and the north strip with no problems. I already called- you can use the Flamingo%26#39;s pool. And as an added bonus- you have Big Elvis right there! What more can you ask for?
Thanks vp for calling, and I apologize to benji for the pool confusion...so enjoy :)
BarryZ, not to dispute what you%26#39;re saying but I had a King room last September that faced the Flamingo. Not that I was complaining as I wanted a ';quiet'; room without the street traffic. It%26#39;s entirely possible that they reconfigured some of the rooms between your visit and mine (or vice versa).
We are staying at Bills beginging of May.
Do they have a fridge in the room or is this something you have to arrange with reception.
Thanks
