So my husband and i leave the uk for vegas in exactly 2 weeks! We will be staying for 2 weeks and this will be a once in a lifetime experience (for the forseable future anyway!) for the both of us. I am 22 and my husand is 25 and we will be celebrating out first wedding anniversary while we are there.
So what are your opinions of the absolute must see%26#39;s and do%26#39;s to make our trip special?
thanks in advance nat x
What would be the must see's for a once in a lifetime trip!!
If you are into ';views';, the Strip and the Bellagio fountains as viewed from the top of the Eiffel Tower are a ';MUST SEE'; in my books. Well worth the price.
What would be the must see's for a once in a lifetime trip!!
Just off the top of my head:
-- Bellagio fountains
-- Mirage volcano
-- Shopping at Forum Shops at Caesars, Wynn Esplanade, Via Bellagio, Grand Canal Shops at Venetian, and/or Miracle Mile Shops at PH
-- View of strip from somewhere (my personal favorite is from Mix Lounge at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, but the Eiffel Tower or Stratosphere also offer great views)
-- Bellagio Conservatory
-- Nightclubbing at Pure, Tao, Tryst, LAX, Jet, or Prive
-- Lots of great spas, if you want some relaxing (QUA at Caesars, Canyon Ranch at Venetian, etc.)
-- See a Cirque show (LOVE is absolutely amazing!)
Other than that, just walk the strip, check out all the hotels, and have some nice meals.
Hope that helps - enjoy your trip!
Wow, if you have two weeks here, I%26#39;m going to suggest some of the extras that weekend travelers never get time to experience. Make sure to schedule an overnight trip to the Grand Canyon. It%26#39;s absolutely amazing, and if you have that much time in the USA, take the chance and see it. There are bus tours, helicopter tours, or rent a car and drive.
If budget allows, try for a show every 3 days while you%26#39;re here. The entertainment avaialble in Las Vegas, is amazing.
I would recommend:
Jubilee, Cirque Du Soleiel, (Love, Ka, Mystere or ';O';) Spamalot, Jersey Boys, MamaMia, Danny Gans, Penn %26amp; Teller, Blue Man Group, Wayne Brady, Carrot Top.
Enjoy some of our outlying areas in the community, take a day trip to Red Rock, grab a fast food lunch and eat at Spring Mountain Ranch, enjoy the views, the grass meadow, the big shade trees, and a house that was once owned by Howard Hughes. Lake Mead-take a tour of Hoover Dam, and enjoy the dinner cruise on the lake.
There are plenty of things to keep you busy aside from gambling, enjoy!
if you are vegas for 2 weeks, you must go to the grand canyon.
i can%26#39;t describe how wonderful this place is and it%26#39;s a must see!
hope you have a great holiday..
As the others have said, do more than just see Vegas and the strip. Go to the Grand Canyon and maybe to Hoover Dam. I%26#39;d also go out to Valley of Fire, it%26#39;s beautiful there!
As for shows, I%26#39;d see Mystere and/or LOVE, Jersey Boys, Bette Middler and maybe Cher depending on who is at Caesars when you are in town. Do book shows now, the ones listed all sell out. If you want to see a real old time Vegas type show, then see Jubilee at Bally%26#39;s, it%26#39;s very good.
The Bellagio Fountains are a must as is the Conservatory at Bellagio, the Forum Shops at Caesar%26#39;s are also something you should see. (between Caesar%26#39;s and the Mirage). Since you are in the UK, I%26#39;d definitely go shopping, you%26#39;ll be shocked at how inexpensive things in the US are now given the exchange rate between the $ and the 拢. I bought an entire wardrobe in the US a few weeks ago, couldn%26#39;t believe how good the prices were compared to the UK! So, Forum Shops and also go to Fashion Show Mall, you%26#39;ll find tons there. You can check out the Miracle Mile Mall at Planet Hollywood and also the outlet malls.
Go see Big Elvis at Bill%26#39;s Gamblin Hall, show is free and Bill%26#39;s has great 99 cent margaritas as well. Do spend time checking out the various casinos, it%26#39;s fun. Go downtown to see what old Vegas is like.
Last of all, enjoy the weather, so much better than over here in the UK at present!
I also give a vote for the Grand Canyon.
But I don%26#39;t think I would vote for the overnight there. In my (many) trips to the canyon, I have reached one conclusion: There are two amounts of time that are useful for a canyon trip- 45 minutes, or a week!
What I mean, is if you want to really explore the canyon, then spend a week, raft through it, camp in it, really see it.
Since that obviously doesn%26#39;t fit in with most people%26#39;s plans, then all you really need is about 45 minutes to stand at the rim with your mouth gaping open.
Enjoy!
Do check out the Voodoo Lounge for a wonderful view of Las Vegas at night. It is breathtaking! Have a great time on your trip.
I believe there%26#39;s no cover charge for Voo Doo if you go before 10PM, wonderful views from there!
The Bellagio Fountains, maybe several times to listen to the variety of music. Do walk thru most of the name hotels and some of the not so great ones.
I assume the once in a lifetime trip will draw you back a second time someday.
