We will be going again to Vegas in August and my Mom got a great deal at Harrah%26#39;s (3 night free) ,we are used to staying at Bally%26#39;s. Can someone please advise on the Pro%26#39;s and cons of staying here compared to Bally%26#39;s. My mom will have a wheelchair accessible room...just an FYI and we will have a regular room.
If there are too many cons we still have plenty of time to change to another hotel.
Cheers,
Stacie
Harrah's roomspros...3 nights free.LOL
you probably should look at the reviews for Harrah%26#39;s located here at TA.
BTW my friends will be staying at Harrh%26#39;s in June.
Harrah's roomsI have stayed at Harrah%26#39;s and Bally%26#39;s. If your mom has difficulties in walking, Harrh%26#39;s may be your best option. Harrah%26#39;s is right on the ground %26gt; you go through the little market area%26gt; into the casino and to the hotel with nice ramps.
Now, in terms of Bally%26#39;s which is on the opposite side of the Strip, you have to use a ramp-like escalator. I am sure there is another entrance, but you need to consider this.
I would recommend Harrah%26#39;s, in consideration of your mother. Then visit Bally%26#39;s to see if it would be workable for her in the future.
We stayed at Harrah%26#39;s in January and I was pleasantly surprised by the room - very spacious, nice decor and looked newly renovated - we were in the Carnival Tower. BTW - I was in a wheelchair accessible room - it had wider doors, grip bars in washroom and handheld movable showerhead.
I wouldn%26#39;t hesitate to stay there again (assuming it was winter and I didn%26#39;t care about the pool :)
I%26#39;ll begin by letting you know we haven%26#39;t stayed there (have a Harrah%26#39;s here so really try other places when we are in Vegas), but we%26#39;ve had friends stay there and wouldn%26#39;t stay anywhere else!
Jacktarlover is kind of a Harrah%26#39;s expert, so search for her posts since she%26#39;s commented alot about her Harrah%26#39;s experiences.
Harrah%26#39;s and Bally%26#39;s are both Harrah%26#39;s Entertainment properties so Total Rewards are reciprocal at both, dining, gambling, eating, are all similar (at least to us)...so guess my choice would be Harrah%26#39;s since the location is pretty much center-strip.
I don%26#39;t think your Mom will have a problem at either property since their facilities meet ADA requirements.
My only thought as I%26#39;ve mentioned here before is that I am a light sleeper so would request a room facing away from the Carnival Court since the music (and just strip noise in general) is pretty loud along there.
Oh and we have stayed at Bally%26#39;s, lucky enough that the clerk booked us in a north-facing suite, and we loved it. But with 3 free nights, I would personally stay at Harrah%26#39;s.
Maxxy...I don%26#39;t understand your reply? Bally%26#39;s is on the same side of the strip as Harrah%26#39;s (east side) but further south, so I don%26#39;t understand what you mean by opposite side of the strip?
There are other entrances to Bally%26#39;s than the moving walkway, aren%26#39;t there? I am sure there are if I remember correctly.
Thank you for your reply%26#39;s. I guess I didn%26#39;t make myself too clear in my question.
We always stay at Ballys%26#39; when we go to Vegas I was really just comparing room size and quality of room at Harrah%26#39;s compared to Bally%26#39;s. Since I have read that their rooms are really small compared to others on the strip. Also I have heard you can hear the music from outside if you stay in certain rooms, are there rooms to avoid?
Cheers,
Stacie
Harrah%26#39;s rooms are clean and comfortable. They are not large but I don%26#39;t spend alot of time in my room when I am in Vegas.
Ask for a room in the Carnival Tower, they are quieter.
I%26#39;ve stayed multiple times at both places. I like Harrah%26#39;s a little better--especially for someone in a wheelchair. Harrah%26#39;s is very easy to get into and to get around in. I%26#39;ve seen lots of scooters buzzing through the casino there. The rooms are not as spacious as those in the north tower at Bally%26#39;s, but the ones we%26#39;ve had have always been plenty nice. Two great restaurants. Penazzi%26#39;s and The Range. I%26#39;d certainly stay there for free. I think you%26#39;ll like it.
I think you will like Harrahs, yes some rooms have noise issues with the Carnival Court, but just tell them that you do not want to be near it. Also make sure that the room has a safe to ensure you get a newer room. The rooms are easy to get to from the casino floor and the casino is close to many on the strip.
