We will be staying at the Palazzo this summer and I wanted to know how much time we need to allow to get to the airport and through security. Our Continental flight leaves Sunday at 4:25 p.m.
I certainly want to allow enough time but I also don%26#39;t want to waste precious minutes that could be spend still on the strip! Thanks!
How much time to allow to get to airport at trip's end
Well, you%26#39;re supposed to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight leaves. I would also allow a half hour to get your luggage if you%26#39;ve left it at the hotel after checking out and another half hour to get to the airport.
We carry on our luggage and usually print our boarding passes ahead of time, so I normally only allow for a 90 minute early arrival to the airport. If it were me I would start collecting my luggage at 2:00 p.m. and be on the way to the airport by 2:30. You might want to allow a little longer if you%26#39;re checking in and checking luggage at the airport though.
How much time to allow to get to airport at trip's endI always allow 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
From Palazzo%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; 2-1/2 hours ahead of time.
Everyone else is departing after a weekend of drinking .
The problem is getting through security which depending on the situation can take an hour so I would give yourself 2 hours
Anyone have an estimated time to allow if we have a rental car to return?
I think Continental flies out of the ';other'; terminal. The terminal that you need to take a tram to. Security seems slower in that terminal than the main terminal.
I%26#39;m not one to get to the airport early but I%26#39;d arrive around 2:30P. You can write out your Trip Report. I%26#39;m very curious to see your opinions of the restaurants.
I agree with the times posted here--I think estimating times at the airport for security and check in might just be the biggest gamble in town!
When we rent a car, we check out at the normal time and get our car from the valet at that time and put the luggage in the car. We use the rest of the time working our way down the strip--or we drive to Luxor and valet the car there. We then use our remaining time at the casinos at that end of the strip. It is a short drive from there to the car rental place--which by the way, I don%26#39;t care for, but that is another story.
The biggest problem with storing your luggage at your hotel is you can run into long lines of people doing the same thing and that can really eat up your time. That is why the above is now our last day strategy.
For a car rental, you probably need to allow 20 minutes to check the car in, catch a shuttle and make it to the airport. Travel time to the facility will depend on your hotel and traffic.
Take the 2pm shuttle from The Palazzo - $6 pp non-stop to the airport. That gives you 2 hr for security and to get to your gate.
Bridgefan 1- have you actually done this?
If checkout is at 11:00, will they set aside luggage separately for people taking the shuttle? Is this for Palazzo guests only? Is there a shuttle from the airport to the Palazzo on a regular basis as well? Do you need to reserve ahead of time? How big is the shuttle?
If we are going to checkout and then just get a bite to eat at a Palazzo restaurant, is it tacky to just keep our luggage with us? We will probably have one carry-on and one rolling suitcase.
Slightly separate note - is there somewhere at the Palazzo where you can use a computer and print out a boarding pass? That would certainly be a time saver!!
