Hi, we will be travelling to LV early July with our two kids (12 and 23) and were wondering which hotel was best for all of us: MB, Bellagio, MGM or PH? We are looking for nice pool area but also interested in nightclub close by or in the hotel etc. for the older kid too! Do you have to pay for fitness center in any of the hotels or how can I find that out? Would Bellagio be too %26#39;boring%26#39; for kids or just a little quieter than other hotels? Is Bellagio (5 star) really one star above the other mentioned hotels? Thank you for any info!
Mandalay B, Bellagio, MGM Grand or Planet H or other hotels?
Yes, Bellagio really is a 5-star hotel, and your 12 year old might think it%26#39;s not much fun.
I would pick Mandalay Bay or MGM, for what you need. Great pools, and fun stuff to do.
Mandalay B, Bellagio, MGM Grand or Planet H or other hotels?
Really depends on what matters more to you. I haven%26#39;t stayed at Bellagio, but I do know that it really is a star above the rest. The next nicest would be Mandalay, and it has the best pool area, but it%26#39;s in the worst location at the far south end of the strip. I stayed at MB several years ago and really enjoyed it (I was in my teens then), but we had a car to be able to drive anywhere. I also stayed at MGM when I was a teen and liked it, and the rooms have been renovated since then. Haven%26#39;t stayed at PH yet, but it has the best location of the ones on your list after Bellagio.
For a family I think MGM would be your best bet, there are lots of dining options, clubs right in the hotel and excellent pool area. There is more for a kid to do there than at Bellagio, I don%26#39;t know about MB for kids. There%26#39;s a wonderful pool area at MB but it is also way south strip. However, I do think you can get from there to the Excalibur, loads for the 12 yr old there, but I also wouldn%26#39;t stay there. I%26#39;m not sure PH is a good choice for a family, but your 23 yr old would probably love it!
My DD is 10 years old and she loves MGM since it is has a great pool complex but I have stayed at PH and I liked thier deluxeroom, but I really like the feel of MB- alot of food options, the tram that connects the 3 hotels and the Mandalay place entrance that you can walk from MB and enter the Luxor.
I have not stayed at MB but have visited it and will be staying at 4Seasons in May and The Hotel in Thanksgiving, watch for my TR and I plan on spending alot of time at MB and will try to eat at several resturants there and will post prices of said meals..
Thank you so much for the great answers all of you! We will have a car and we are not planning on doing any (real) gambling, so the pool really does matter! Any ideas about the fitness center? Thanks again!
With that crowd I%26#39;d have to suggest either Mandalay or MGM. Both are very nice and have tons of fun stuff to do. Ceasars is a good consideration for mixed ages as well.
All of your selections are very good. I haven%26#39;t stayed at the PH, but the room looks good though. However, the bathrooms (basic) are old according to VegasTripping%26#39;s review.
Your choice will mainly depend on: how much you want to walk (from parking lot to room), what styles you like in the room, and how your kids are like (amused by how things look (ex. a huge chocolate fountain or very stunning architecture- in which all hotels are pretty stunning on their own (Bellagio is the hotel with the huge chocolate fountain) or if they love playing games (MGM and Mandalay are convenient for playing games due to the fact the Gameworks is not far away).
Bellagio is a good hotel- however it is crowded (a lot) and people love to visit. The rooms (some) are a little old, and should be renovated. The toiletries are very nice though.
MGM- family oriented, but still a good hotel. Not a lot of fancy features (robes, slippers- unless you are staying in a suite), but the style of the room is nice, and the toiletries are made in CA. You might not like the fact though that the TV is CRT (not flat panel) and the bathroom is not very fancy (just a ton of marble). The service is excellent for such a big hotel- our problems were always solved.
MB- very nice renovated rooms, and nice pool! Probably the best pick for you (if you don%26#39;t mind a little driving to go visit places...which isn%26#39;t really that much driving), and Gilchrist and Soames toiletries are used in the rooms. The hotel is large and is very nice in the lobby and other areas.
For your price range- if Bellagio rate- Wynn or Palazzo is a great choice. However, the MB and the MGM are excellent hotels that you will like.
Hope this helps in your decision!
If the pool is important stay away from the PH, it just isn%26#39;t close to the standards of the other 3. I like the PH overall but think it is geared more towards the 25-40 crowd rather than families.
Of the other 3, you will enjoy them all but the MB would be my recommendation based on your criteria. The pool is unique in Vegas and the kids will love the waves and beach.
MB also has some great restaurants and a couple of superb lounges/ clubs to keep you entertained (Mix %26amp; RumJungle are my favourites).
The last time I stayed at MB it was a $20 dollar fee to use the spa/ fitness room. All four hotels charge for this if you stay in a standard room. The fitness facilities at MB and Bellagio are far superior to the otehr two hotels.
MGM and MB are your choices. The others would not be the right atmosphere.
