San Diego to Las Vegas

Hi Folks

I will be doing a road trip from San Diego to Las Vegas at the End of October is there anything worth stopping to see along this journey...

Also how long of a drive is it.

San Diego to Las Vegas

It should take around four hours plus any stopping time. The vast majority of the drive is through desert and if that%26#39;s new to you, it can be quite specatular. Not that many places worth stopping on the way. Baker is an ok rest stop - they have the world%26#39;s tallest thermometer there. Alternatively, Barstow (closer to mid way between SD and LV) is a functional place to eat and get gas.

Do not, under any circumstances, attempt this drive on a Friday when what seems like half of Southern California gets in its cars and heads to Vegas.

Blagger, as usual, beat me to it....just as written..A nice easy drive. We rarely stop except if we need to fill up the tank or use one of the reststops. There ae a few along the way if needed. Most of the stops are pretty tourist traps, so save the money on those places till you get to Vegas.

And BE SURE not to leave on a friday, you can easily add 2hrs+ to your trip...if you have to, leave EARLY.
