why not stay at Imperial Palace - not expensive at all and we always find the staff pleasant and the rooms clean. And that is where Legends is at - you sometimes can get free tickets at check-in (unless your cousin in getting you in free). ALso a great super location for getting to an from anything on the strip. If you want to stay downtown, we just stayed at 4 Queens and was a very nice hotel and probably around $50-60 a night (ours was comped)

If your Cousin is appearing in Legends at Imperial Palace, why not stay there? Excellent location, prices would be great for a no frills hotel and would save you on transportation costs. Depending on more information on when you%26#39;re going, what day, your budget, ect, I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll get a lot of ideas from folks here.

I would not recommend staying at Imperial Palace. While I do agree that the location is excellent . . . it%26#39;s not particularly nice.

Try another hotel located nearby: Flamingo, Bills, Mirage, TI or Harrahs all would be better choices. Higher up the cost ladder with similar locations would be Caesars Palace and Venetian.

Sorry, I totally DISAGREE with Coffemug - the Imperial Palace ias fine if you are not expecting a 5 star hotel for a 3 star price. We are of median to low high income and love the Imp. Palace. Hace always had clean rooms and friendly service and like the fact that is is close to everything. Also their comp system is fantastic and they treat returning customers like they care that you are back (gee I could do a commerical LOL). I would recommend this hotel to friends and anyone in my family (as long as I knew in advance they are expecting The Wynn).

imperial is [vegasview.com]$121 average night,el cortez is tempting from $31 would leave lots of lolly to waste?spend take my cousin for belagio buffet, nice to get help on here thanks to all and anyone else who answers, any more tips is welcome like walking about to see things,ps anyone ever want help on krakow poland ask me or uk as well

You know El Cortez is miles away fron the strip, yes?

If you don%26#39;t have a car, it will be very expensive getting to/from the strip from downtown unless you take the Deuce bus. The Deuce can take a long time to get from point A to point B, but if you are going to have a lot of time on your hands, then maybe that would work for you.

You%26#39;ll spend $20+ each way for a cab from El Cortez to Imperial Palace. IP is a much better location. check out booking directly through the hotel web site - often you get the best deal that way.

I would suggest Flamingo. Close enough to IP, not too expensive for a basic room, excellent pools(if that matters) and a lot nicer than the hotels previously suggested.

If you have never been to Vegas before you should really stay on the strip. Downtown is great and you should visit it one night but most of the attractions, shows, restaurants, etc. that most people want to see are on the strip. If you like downtown you can stay there on your next visit.

For a nice basic hotel- Bill%26#39;s is great. The rooms are clean and safe and the staff is both friendly and helpful. You can use the Flamingo pool next door since it does not have a pool.
